Snorkeling
BSA introduces qualified Boy Scout, Venturing, and
registered adult participants to the special skills,
equipment, and safety precautions associated with
snorkeling, encourages aquatics that promote fitness and
recreation, and provides a foundation for those who later
will participate in more advanced underwater activity.
The Snorkeling
BSA experience contains two parts -- Knowledge Development
and Water Skills Development. During the first part,
participants learn basic skin diving safety information and
overview skills to be used during their water experience.
The Water Skills Development session introduces essential
snorkeling skills, such as mask clearing, snorkel clearing,
and free diving.
The Snorkeling
BSA program is conducted in our indoor, heated pool by a
PADI instructor recognized by the BSA. Our staff includes a
professional instructor who is an Eagle Scout and active
adult member of the Boy Scouts of America. Completion of
Snorkeling BSA requirements sets the stage for additional
training. Upon completion of the requirements, participants
will earn the Snorkeling BSA aquatics award.
