Underwater Archaeology
What's the value of Underwater Archaeology certification?
It is said that anything that is lost or
sunk in the water enters a time capsule. How long has man been around
and on the water? A LONG time.
Today archaeologists have realized how
much history and knowledge is to be found underwater and underwater
archaeology has taken a long neglected position in piecing together the
story of man. Shipwrecks can provide artifacts that are not to be found
anyplace else.
However, making sense of what one finds
underwater requires specific techniques of discovery, measurement and
recording or the story may be lost. This course is designed to introduce
the participant to the skills and techniques used in underwater
archaeology and builds and appreciation for the process.
