 What's the
Discover Scuba experience all about?
The
Discover Scuba program lets you experience the thrill of
scuba diving under the supervision of a professional DTC
scuba diving instructor in our comfortable indoor pool.
During your adventure, you'll learn some basic concepts
and scuba skills after which you'll don scuba gear and
try scuba diving for real. When you participate the DTC
Discover Scuba program, you discover excitement and
adventure - freedom and serenity. Nothing compares to
the "weightless" exhilaration of breathing underwater.
Only a diver knows the feeling!
Please
note that this is not a scuba certification course, but
rather an opportunity to try scuba diving and to find
out if it's for you. However, some of what you learn
during Discover Scuba can be applied to the Open Water
Diver certification course.
What will I
do during the Discover Scuba experience?
After
watching a short video presentation and a briefing from
your instructor, you will head to the pool. Your
instructor will help you don your scuba gear, give you
some instruction on the fundamentals of diving
technique, and then you will have plenty of time to
experience the thrill of breathing underwater. After
getting comfortable in the shallow end of the pool, head
into the deep end for more diving excitement. One of our
professional instructors will be right there with you
every step of the way.
How long
will the Discover Scuba experience take?
Get ready
to dive today. After viewing a short video and a
briefing by your instructor, you'll enter the water
quickly and begin your scuba adventure. The Discover
Scuba experience will last about two hours; with about
45 minutes in the classroom, and 1 hour in the pool.
When is
Discover Scuba offered?
The
Discover Scuba experience is one night from 7:00pm to
9:00pm.

What are
the requirements for Discover Scuba?

Minimum
age: 10 years old.

desire to learn about scuba diving and the underwater
world.

Be reasonably fit and in good health.

Some individuals may require a physician's release.

A completed and signed Discover Scuba Diving
participant form. (Provided when you enroll.)
What
materials and equipment are required for the Discover
Scuba experience?

A sense of adventure.

necessary, a physician's release. We will advise you if
this is needed when you enroll.

Swimsuit and towel.

will provide everything else.
How much is the Discover
Scuba experience?
$30 per participant.
Can I
arrange a Discover Scuba experience for my group?
Yes.
Whether you have a scout troop, work group, or just a
group of friends, we can arrange a custom Discover Scuba
experience for you. Minimum group size is 6
participants. Call us or stop by to make reservations
for your group.
What's
next?
As soon as
you Discover Scuba, you're on your way to an
internationally recognized certification. It's time to
get certified as an Open Water Diver. Once certified, a
whole new world will become yours to explore!
